The power of a Woman
“Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman wearing it.” - Yves Saint Laurent
After this special introduction I want to come to the main topic of this post. My personal feelings about combining feminine and masculine energy in one body and mind.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a boy. I really regretted that I'm a girl. At that particular time of my life I hated wearing dresses and I was more into cars and superheroes than dolls. Luckily my parents were very fantastic and they never told me that I should act like a girl because I’m a girl. Freedom of self-expression on the first place. Only one time I was forced to wearing dress (during photoshoot in kindergarten). You can spot this picture on my Instagram and my ‘very happy’ face.
After the years my body has changed a lot and I’ve got very feminine features which I love but my mind still remained a half boyish. Therefore I feel 100% myself in men’s wardrobe just like wearing dresses. Unisex direction in the fashion industry is fortunately very strong nowadays and its still improving. Life without fear of harmful criticism is a priority. I’m very oversensitive on this point because I have also experienced many unpleasant situations and unfair, destructive behaviours.
Now I’m very strong woman who knows what she wants. And I always get it. I can wear suit (thank you YSL) and unique dress to empower myself and I’m proud of it. As a stylist I always choose dresses according to three criteria: flawless details, ultra-feminine character and classy design. I have to feel texture and the whole construction. Great dress should be a mirror of a woman personality. The life of the party that won’t stop.
